"Besides seeing my first book in print, ... I am writing flat-out, and getting paid what I can now describe with pride as a decent salary."

Here are some comments from our students. Their views say more about the course and tuition service than we ever could.

Vassiliki Plomaritou“I am a special needs teacher and I work with children who experience learning difficulties due to Dyslexia Syndrome. But, I always felt that I wanted to be a writer and write stories for children and novels for young adults. It was then that I did an enormous amount of internet research and discovered The Writers Bureau. In eight months, I had two books under publication!

“The course which was both very rewarding and interesting was a brilliant experience which added a completely new dimension to my work and my life. The assignments helped me to organise my thoughts, and have a clear vision of what I would like to write about with the best way to write it.

“I am very grateful to my tutor. She was very understanding because English is my second language. She was excellent and gave me constructive comments, appropriate feedback on my writing and helpful insights all the way through the course. I feel that The Writers Bureau’s Writing for Children course has laid a sound foundation for my future career.”

“When I began the course, I think I liked the idea of writing more than the actual process. By the time I’d read the first module, I was inspired! Each segment has taught me so much. Writing has come alive for me. I am due to retire in January and my big ambition is to have my children’s book published.”

“Just an update on another success. My story for 6-9 year olds has been published on the BBC Bristol website.

“I'm thrilled to have just received a letter from the editor of School Journal in New Zealand, accepting my story, Marama's Dog for publication! She says "It's a simply told and touching story, which will raise some interesting questions for young readers. I hope we'll see more of your work."

“School Journal is read by primary school children in every school in New Zealand, and in some of the Pacific Islands, and is a respected, good-quality publication. I'm absolutely chuffed!

“The payment is to be NZ$485 (about £168) for first publication rights, so that goes most of the way towards covering my course fees!

“Thank you very much for your advice and support, which has made it possible for me to have a story published.”
