Outlines and Overlaps

Level - Intermediate - not suitable for beginners.

If you are a beginner please see our introductory to poetry course.

Learn how to approach your poetry from a new perspective with this five-module course from Mandy Pannett. It will help you approach your poetry in a new way and stretch your poetry writing skills.

Your Course

Module One introduces the concepts you will cover.

In Module Two you learn about psychogeography and how this can connect the landscape to your writing.

Module Three explores overlaps in language and time. You learn how adding different voices to your poems can add depth to your work.

You are shown how to break out of the constraints of conventional language or grammar in Module Four.

Finally, in Module Five, you will consider the idea of different versions and see how the outline of an idea might develop into a deeper exploration with wider connections.

Exercises And Assignments

You are given optional exercises throughout so you can try the concepts being studied. Plus, you have two assignments giving you the chance to send in your poems for assessment by Mandy herself.

For the duration of your course you will have access to The Writers Bureau's Writers' Community and free Zoom sessions where you can meet other writers and poets as well as ask questions.
