The Practical Application of AI In Factual Writing

Learn how to use AI responsibly and ethically with your writing.

This course is for people with some writing experience. It is NOT suitable for beginners.

This course is similar to our An Introduction To Using AI When Writing but it focuses on using AI tools for your non-fiction writing and the assignments are different.

It aims to help you understand what AI is, show you how you can use it effectively for your factual writing and avoid the pitfalls that arise with its use.

The Course

With this course you have one module to work through which gives you an overview of AI and how to use it with non-fiction pieces.

Exercises And Assignments

There are three writing assignments for you to complete. This is where the real value in this course lies. Through the assignments you will use AI: as a research assistant to produce an article, to prepare for and conduct an interview then write up the interview, and finally you'll prepare a pitch and query letter. You will submit your work to your tutor, Andy Ellis, who will give you feedback on your work and further instruction in light of what you have presented.

AI Transparency Statement

This course has been created with the help of AI tools and a full statement of how these were used is available with your course materials.
