Workshop Outline

Workshop Outline:

In this fun and exciting workshop you learn how to kick-start your project of writing a book for children that will sell.

Week 1: What makes a good book for children? The workshop kicks off with a writing warm-up, then you'll discuss what makes a good children's book. Rob will take you through a fun activity looking at the common mistakes made by new writers using a supposed opening to a children's novel.

Week 2: Deciding what to write. Rob will give you lots of tips on how to research the market so you write what agents and publishers want. You'll learn about professional presentation and submitting your work giving you the very best chance of having your work accepted. You'll finish off by thinking about the book you'd like to write.
