Workshop Outline

Week 1: Where To Start. In your first session you'll explore how to come up with original ideas, write titles, write the introduction and ending of your feature, and find markets for your work.

Homework: Diane will be asking you to write a short piece based on what you have covered in the first session.

Week 2: Selling Your Feature and The Final Piece. In your second session you'll learn how to give editors what they want, pitch your idea to editors, deal with an acceptance, learn from a rejection, do your research for your feature, find quotes, and write the body copy of your piece.

After the workshop has finished, you can send Diane a 2000 word feature you have written for her comments and feedback.

This workshop is run by Budding Writers in partnership with The Writers Bureau.
