Workshop Outline

Ideas and inspiration are all around us. A writer simply needs to capture and unpick them so they can be transmuted into ideas for stories.

In these two sessions you will learn how to use a variety of prompts to fire your imagination: visual images, memories, everyday life and characters and television, film, other stories and books.

You will see how by firing the right questions at your raw idea you can shape it into a workable premise.

By the end of the course you will have formed an idea and turned it into a solid story concept.

This workshop is run by Budding Writers in partnership with The Writers Bureau.

By taking part in this workshop you will:

  • meet other writers

  • have time to ask questions as there are only ten participants per group

  • learn where to find ideas for stories

  • gain increased self-confidence to take your writing forward on your own.
