Workshop Outline

All writing is rewriting. First drafts are always rough sketches. By redrafting them you can turn them into something gripping which will catch an editor's eye.

In these two sessions you will see how you can make your editing easier and more effective by drafting in progressive stages. In your second edit, you will look at the macro elements such as structure and theme.

In the third draft, your focus will be on more specific questions of characterisation and setting. In the next, you will hone the language, dialogue and pace.

At the end of the course you will have a framework and a plan to burnish your initial draft into something which shines.

This workshop is run by Budding Writers in partnership with The Writers Bureau.
