An Introduction To Creative Writing

Find out what sort of writer you want to be.

7PM (GMT) Wednesday 22nd November 2023

In this workshop we'll be exploring what being a writer is all about, and introducing you to the major forms of creative writing.

You’ll look at:

  • who can be a writer
  • what skills you’ll need.
  • the different types of writing you can do

Throughout the workshop there will be some short exercises that will help you reflect on why you want to write, what your aims and ambitions are, and how you’re going to achieve them. Understanding your own motivation is an important part of the writing journey.

The workshop finishes with a short tour around the student area of The Writers Bureau site so you can see how our online courses work.

By the end of the workshop you should have gained a good understanding of what to expect as a writer, which type of writing you want to explore, what you hope to gain from it, and how best to move forward.
